Urban Education Reform

During our year-long engagement at Niner University Elementary (2024–2025), my peers and I experienced a truly transformative partnership with students, teachers, and administrators. Serving as co-conspirators to help children advocate for themselves revealed the power of collective empowerment in educational spaces.

Power and Priviledge

My semester-long Experiencing the Other project at STEM Skool introduced me to a joyful micro-school community serving homeschool students across Charlotte. Learning from its founder, an engineer with a background similar to my own was deeply inspiring and expanded my understanding of how power, privilege, and creativity shape educational spaces.

Critical Readings in Urban Ed. Research

Creative Learning Institute was positive and deeply insightful to my practical experience into a microschool. I appreciated being able to witness students learning authentically through community, creativity, and care. The children were well-mannered, respectful, and eager to learn.

This observation not only allowed me to understand their microschool model more deeply but also helped strengthen a partnership that may continue to grow. I look forward to seeing what blossoms from this meaningful experience.
